Dental implants for missing teeth are a long-lasting investment for your smile
Sequoyah Dental Arts is pleased to offer dental implants to our patients in and around Knoxville, Tennessee. Implant procedures are truly transformative; Drs Pablo Foncea and Mariko McCall use implants to create replacement teeth that look and feel natural. They are also of exceptional value.
Well worth the cost
Implants are small cylinders that are placed in the jawbone and made from materials designed to fuse with the surrounding bone. After this process is complete, the implant is effectively part of the jaw and functions like a natural tooth root. The replacement tooth is then connected to the implant, so it is held securely in place.
There are many advantages to implants designed to look like natural teeth. Other tooth replacement options only replace the visible part of the teeth (the dental crowns). They do not replace the parts that are underneath the gum line which support the teeth. Our patients appreciate that implant-retained teeth:
- Look natural
- Feel natural in the mouth
- Function like natural teeth
- Are comfortable
- Are easy to adjust to
- Require no special cleaning techniques or products
- Are durable
Since they are so strong, replacement teeth supported by implants can last a lifetime. Take care of them with consistent, good hygiene at home and visits to our office for professional cleanings and exams. Additionally, implant-supported teeth prevent a destructive process called bone resorption, which refers to the loss of bone in the jaw. Bone loss occurs when there are no teeth to keep the underlying jawbone strong and healthy, as it requires stimulation from the teeth to retain its strength. Bone loss promotes several destructive functional and cosmetic effects, including facial aging. Overlying skin sags when it lacks supportive bone.
A restored smile is within reach
During a consultation, we will discuss your options for treatment and what to expect throughout the process. The total cost of treatment depends on factors such as the total number of implants that are needed to adequately replace missing teeth. We provide many payment options to help with out-of-pocket costs, including CareCredit® medical financing.
