What Can Be Expected at my First Invisalign Visit?
Invisalign is a state-of-the-art way to address misaligned teeth for patients who do not want to deal with the appearance of metal orthodontics, or are not candidates for traditional braces. Over the years, the Invisalign system has continued to improve, making it easier for dentists to help patients improve the alignment of their teeth without dealing with the discomfort, appearance, and inconvenience of metal brackets and wires over their beautiful smile.
There are many steps involved in the Invisalign orthodontics procedure. First, you will want to schedule a consultation with Dr. Foncea of Knoxville’s Sequoyah Dental Arts. During this appointment, Dr. Foncea will discuss the pros and cons of Invisalign orthodontics, and will determine if you are a viable candidate.
Once Dr. Foncea has determined the extent of the realignment, you will then schedule an appointment during which a “computerized impression” of your teeth is created. This enables you to see a three-dimensional view of your teeth now, as well as a three-dimensional version of what your teeth will look like by the end of the orthodontic treatment. This computer generated impression is sent to the Invisalign labs, where a series of customized, nearly invisible plastic aligners are crafted for you.
Once the aligners are sent to Dr. Foncea’s office, you will come into Sequoyah Dental Arts for the next appointment. You will be given your Invisalign aligners and you will be educated on when they should be changed out. Appointments may be made in order to follow your progress and ensure that treatment is going as planned.
If you want to know if Invisalign orthodontics can help address your dental issues, call Dr. Foncea of Sequoyah Dental Arts in Knoxville to schedule a consultation and find out if you are a candidate for this state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment!
