Dental Bridges and Dental Crowns in Knoxville, TN

Dental crowns and bridges restore your smile’s strength, function, and appearance. A crown covers and protects a damaged tooth, while a bridge replaces one or more missing teeth using neighboring teeth for support. Crafted from durable, natural-looking materials, these restorations help you confidently eat, speak, and smile.

Process

Initial Consultation: You’ll visit the dentist for an exam and possibly X-rays to assess the condition of your teeth and determine if a crown or bridge is the best solution. The dentist will discuss treatment options and answer any questions you have.

Tooth Preparation: For a crown, the damaged tooth is reshaped to make space for the crown. For a bridge, the teeth on either side of the gap (abutment teeth) are reshaped to support the bridge.

Impressions and Temporary Restoration: The dentist takes impressions of your teeth to create a custom-fit crown or bridge. While the permanent restoration is being crafted in a dental lab, a temporary crown or bridge is placed to protect your teeth.

Next Steps

Permanent Crown or Bridge Placement: Once your custom crown or bridge is ready, the dentist removes the temporary one and cements the permanent restoration in place. The dentist ensures a proper fit, bite alignment, and natural appearance.

Final Adjustments and Care Instructions: The dentist makes minor adjustments for comfort and function. You’ll receive instructions on how to care for your crown or bridge to ensure longevity.
