What is Invisalign?
Invisalign clear braces are quite simply an advanced version of braces and orthodontic treatment. Having been in use for many years, the Invisalign system is an excellent alternative for metal braces. With Invisalign, you will never have to worry about the aesthetics or experience the hassle of feeling brackets and wires against your gums.
Invisalign braces basically utilize a computerized technology to recreate the original formation of teeth. The Invisalign process starts with the recreation of impressions of a patient’s dental makeup. These are then sent to a lab for models to be created. Using cutting edge computer simulation and CAD-CAM technology, the positions of the teeth are recreated and moved in micro-movements until the pre-determined design, smile or occlusion is achieved.
Since the total movement that needs to be achieved for the final result is broken down into smaller movement ranges, the Invisalign system creates molds which fit into each of those movement stages. These molds in reality look like clear retainers. In essence, a patient will go through a series of retainers which will move each tooth gradually, and finally, over the span of about a year or two, the desired and pre-determined target is achieved.
A major benefit of the Invisalign braces is the aesthetic appearance that is offered. Any patient can wear these clear retainers without attracting undue attention since no one can distinguish the difference in your smile or teeth. As a result, Invisalign is seen by many as an excellent aesthetic replacement for traditional braces. Another attractive benefit of Invisalign is hygiene. Unlike normal braces, with Invisalign you will never have to worry about the hassle of brushing and flossing your teeth. You can easily remove the retainers whenever you want. Maintaining your dental hygiene is much easier with the Invisalign system.
