Inflamed Gums
Gum disease, or periodontal disease refers to the infection of gum tissue or the area of bone around each tooth. This infection may be localized or spread over a large area. The symptoms of gum disease include halitosis, receding gums, deep pockets between the gums and teeth, inflamed gums and bleeding gums. Note that these symptoms don’t necessarily occur simultaneously. Some of them are evident in the earlier stages of infection while others emerge at more advanced stages.
