What makes implants so special?

Conventional dental prosthetics, such as dentures, do nothing to stop the process of bone loss. But dentures, bridges, and crowns supported by implants do prevent or stop bone resorption. After all, the implant connected to the replacement tooth is embedded in the jawbone. Energy from behaviors such as chewing food is transferred through the teeth to the implant and bone.
